It is impossible to resist a beautiful bag – for me anyway. It is like experiencing stunning art; just another dimension because you can feel it, touch it, wear it, smell it! The colours, textures, shapes and sizes are available in endless varieties and all so creative. Anyone who tells you that only super high-end handbags are worth anything may well be suffering from delusions. Don’t get me wrong, I treasure my Chanel and would love to have a Hermes Birken in Black and a Kelly in Brown, but there are plenty of other handbags to keep me happy in the meantime.
If you have read some of my previous posts you will know that I discovered Henri Bendel when we visited New York earlier this year, and have a number of their bags. (Thanks to Sharon for her fantastic customer care and excellent help.) One of the latest acquisitions is the best so far. A butter soft lambskin backpack (which I didn’t think I would go for), in black (image below). It is so soft and luxurious! I am loving the Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag too. Very handy and cute. I saw some beautiful Ted Baker handbags recently in a range of really lovely colours. So much to choose from!
If you are in the market for a high-end bag, the Givenchy Antigona grained leather tote is a beautiful bag, as is the Louis Vuitton Vermis Alma GM and the Salvatore Ferragamo Sofia with Gold frame and solid metal bottom.
Don’t let anyone convince you that the purchase of a handbag is not a wonderful investment in happiness. It is an expression of your fashion sense and a very important accessory to any outfit be it formal or informal.
Happy handbag shopping…
